A to Z Guide to Afghanistan Assistance 2003 – Second Edition

The second edition of AREU’s flagship publication is a guide to the terms, structures, mechanisms, and coordinating bodies critical to the Afghanistan relief effort. It aims to ensure a shared vocabulary and common understanding of the forces at play in the country. In addition to a glossary of terms and organograms of key assistance structures, the guide includes maps and a contacts directory to make it easier to communicate with assistance actors working on the ground. The 2nd edition also includes sections on resources (containing information on media organisations, security information, and Afghanistan-related websites), as well as a guide to the Afghan government. A “live document,” the guide is updated and published annually.
