A group of 32 students from Rana University in Kabul visited the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU) office on 6 July 2017. The main purpose of the visit was to become familiar with AREU research and studies, especially those focused on gender and women empowerment.

AREU Director Dr. Orzala Nemat welcomed the students and explained to them AREU’s goals, objectives and activities.

Ihsan Ghafoori, an AREU researcher, had an inclusive presentation that covered topics such as the women participation in initiative program, equal rights, unequal opportunities, women economic empowerment in Afghanistan and gender based violence. Saifullah Mukhlis, an AREU librarian, provided a presentation for the visiting students on library research methodology.

The students also toured the AREU library and were provided with copies of some recent AREU studies.

Rana University Public Relations Coordinator, Said Jawid, emphasized the need for further collaboration between the two institutions and having similar presentations for other university students as well.

One student, Frishta Rahmani, thanked AREU, on behalf of the visiting students, for the comprehensive presentations, the tour of the library and providing them with AREU publications.
