Round table discussion on findings and recommendations of AREU reports

AREU team visited Herat city, in the west of Afghanistan to discuss findings and recommendations of two research papers: “Reaching Boiling Point: Politicization of High Schools in Afghanistan” and the paper titled: “Why do children undertake the unaccompanied journey”. These two papers were discussed over two separate events on the same day with organizations, activists and academia relevant to each research topic.

Both events triggered a lengthy discussion among the participants, who responded to the research findings and also discussed how some of the recommendations of these papers can be put into practice and influence policies. These events were held in an attempt to decentralize AREU’s engagement with stakeholders and civil society actors and take these research-based discussions beyond the capital, Kabul.
