RANA University Students Briefed on AREU Activities

A group of 32 female students from Rana University in Kabul visited the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU) office on 4 July 2017 to become familiar with AREU activities, particularly those focused on women.

Mir Ahmad Joyenda Deputy Director of Communication and Advocacy, briefed the visiting students on the AREU activities, goals and objectives. Ihsan Ghafori, an AREU staff member, had a comprehensive presentation for them on the gender focused studies and women participation. A video titled “The Other Side of Gender Inequalities” was also played.

The students were provided with information on the key findings from a number of AREU studies and the impacts of women’s participation in communal work at the household, village, community and district levels.

At the end of the visit, the students had a tour of the AREU library and were introduced to some of the available resources including research papers, studies, reports and books.
