On the 9th of December, 2015, AREU hosted an Open Dialogue on the Potential Role of the Extractive Sector in Afghanistan Economic Development. This event was part of Gov4Afg project that is implemented together with German partners. During this session, a draft of the study on this topic was presented and initial findings were discussed with participants who included representatives of the Afghanistan government, German partners and civil society actors. Another aim for this session was to share and discuss multiple perspectives on the challenges and opportunities concerning impact assessment and the role of civil society in the extractive sector.
