An Update on AREU’s study , the adolescent reading center (ARC): opening chances and opportunities for young women in Parwan and Kabul, Afghanistan.

On21st May 2013 AREU held a roundtable discussion to present the objectives and methodology of its study on social protection with relevant stakeholders, including the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC), the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the European Union Delegation (EUD), and the Ministry of Education (MoE).  The said research conducted by AREU examines the effectiveness of Adolescent Reading Centers in Kabul and Parwan provinces by BRAC. The ARCs were founded to target adolescent females who have been excluded from formal schools.
AREU presented the study’s methodology and the overall objective of the study; - to inform and strengthen social protection policy in an effort to reduce poverty and increase social inclusion among marginalized and vulnerable workers in the informal economy.
