Afghanistan Livelihoods Trajectories: Policy and Programmatic Implications of Findings

Justice researcher Dr. Deborah J. Smith delivered a presentation of AREU's work on community-based dispute resolution (CBDR) at the organisation's library in Kabul. She discussed relationships between the state and CBDR, the different processes and practices used across different areas of Afghanistan to resolve disputes, and the gender dynamics of these processes. The talk was informed by the results of an ongoing four-province AREU study into CBDR, and suggested policy options for strengthening CBDR processes in Afghanistan.
