Afghan Constitutional Law

On 25 December, AREU convened a Roundtable Discussion with guest of honour, Professor Mohammad Hashim Kamali, with the aim of initiating a debate on the Afghanistan Constitution with prominent member of the academic, legal and political community, with a specific focus on issues and questions raised by participants. Participants at the roundtable included representatives of ACKU, American University of Afghanistan, PTRO, AIHRC, USIP, JICA, UNWOMEN, OSA, Gawharshad Institute of Higher Education, ADW, and Members of Parliament. The event began with a brief description of Afghanistan’s past constitutions by Professor Kamali and was followed by a Q&A session and discussion among participants. The roundtable was chaired by NN who facilitated the discussion with the aim of identifying key challenges.
