Purpose

AREUO is seeking to enhance English and Dari language skills of its staff members and the prospective Language Instructor is responsible for teaching primary, intermediate, and advanced level courses in both designated languages. AREUO is looking to hire a casual part-time language instructor with an outstanding record in language instruction and expertise in grammar, composition, and speaking skills of the languages in question.

The Language Instructor will teach two classes that meet five – time a week each class session lasting for 60 minutes: class -A and class-B (the specific time schedule will be determined as per agreement between AREUO and prospective Language Instructor). Class – A will be for English language and Class-B for Dari.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clear and comprehensive course syllabi and other necessary course materials for both English and Dari classes.
• Prepare lesson plans, organize activities and events for developing communicative competence, and assign home works as per the needs of language learners.
• Conduct and execute lessons efficiently, safely, and professionally using different styles of language teaching depending on course syllabus and activities.
• Engage with language learners to ensure a lively and safe classroom atmosphere.
• Evaluate regularly the performances and progress of learners in each language.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or Dari literature and education is required.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in language instruction is required.
• The ability to lead a diverse class of language learners both Afghan and international.
• Must be native Dari speaker with excellent English knowledge and skills.

Salary and Location

The salary for this position will be determined commensurate with experience, taking into consideration AREUO’s overall salary scales.

The position is casual – part time and based in Kabul, Afghanistan.
