Role purpose:

The intern will provide support to the finance functions

Scope of role:

Reports to: Finance Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updating the cashbook daily to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Managing accounting vouchers by identifying, segregating, and systematically filing them to maintain an organized financial record-keeping system.
  • Gaining hands-on experience in the vouchering process, including scanning and documenting financial records for proper documentation.
  • Assisting in the management of petty cash, ensuring disbursements align with established policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the preparation of bank reconciliations, a vital aspect of financial control and monitoring.
  • Collaborating with the team on various financial tasks and projects, fostering a cooperative and learning-oriented environment.
  • Participating in the budgeting process and contributing to the preparation of financial reports.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties assigned by the Finance Officer, consistent with the nature of the job and the level of responsibility.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL

Working Experience: N/A, 1-year experience will add value.

Job related knowledge:

Knowledge on general Finance & basic knowledge on budget & reporting. Good communication in English (oral and written) Dari and Pashto

Skills:

Computer operating proficient in MS Office applications specially MS Excel

DESIRABLE

Academic:

High school diploma. Fresh graduates or students pursuing Bachelor’s degree, can also apply.

Your place of duty shall originally be Kabul, but travel to the field as required.

LOCATION

The position is full – time and based in Kabul, Afghanistan, and all applicants, including national and international applicants are encouraged to apply.
